When the city falls asleep for some people a day begins. La nuit Balançoire is a story of a meeting, two world that collide at night.

La nuit balançoire is a contemplation of a city at night. In the film, night-time has the power of changing the usual perception of places, seen as a reflective state of questioning. The gaze of the narrator looks for details in the darkness and the poetics at play. The city of Amsterdam, like all metropolitan area is a complex organism with its circulations, its organs. Night-shift workers keep this organism alive and prevent it from collapsing. The film bring to light a meeting between wanderers and night-shift workers and listen to stories that once happened at night.

Quand la ville s’endort, pour certains une journée commence.
La ville d’Amsterdam, comme toute métropole est un organisme complexe, avec ses circulations, ses organes. Les travailleurs de nuit la réparent et l'empêchent de s’effondrer.

Aux travers d’histoires racontées par le narrateur, le film met en lumière une rencontre entre promeneurs et travailleurs de nuit; deux mondes qui entrent en collision. Altéré par l’obscurité,
l’ oeil de la camera s’attarde sur des paysages d’ombres et des objets abandonnés, qui disparaîtront le jour venu.
